ABOUT THE SALON

Sheena A. Webb was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI and is the true definition of a “Shop Kid”. Her mother Diane owned and operated a family salon popular in the 90’s called “PJ’s Hair Design”. Sheena and her and younger sister would often spend time at the salon and were a major part in the family business. The Salon lifestyle really stuck with Sheena and she was fascinated by hair at a really young age.

 Sheena’s education began with styling the mannequins she found lying around in her mom’s shop. She would help around the shop sweeping and doing other tasks as she got older.

 In high school she became serious about her hair styling dreams. You could always find Sheena after school and in between classes braiding, styling, and providing eyebrow arching for other students in her school. 

 Sheena found her love for locs in the Spring break of 1999 locs when her cousin Vernon picked her up and told her she would put locs in his hair. She had never done locs before but her cousin Vern believed in her abilities and told her “She was going to learn today”! For Sheena it was love at first sight! She loved the technique and how it made her feel connected to her roots. Once her mom noticed how much she loved doing locs, she taught her the proper way to do them. 

 In 2009, Sheena took a natural hair cultivation course under an apprenticeship but soon after wanted to extend her expertise in hair. She received her cosmetology license in 2014 where she studied under the mentorship of her mother who’s been teaching hair for over 20+ years. During that time, Sheena has appeared on radio and has educated others on natural hair care and locs across multiple panels and schools. Sheena is a master loctician and natural hair culturist whose mission is to change the narrative and introduce locs to the corporate world in a positive light.

 Sheena continues to build her brand making several appearances across the nation. She encourages all who sit in her chair to wear locs boldly, proudly and confidently in the corporate world and beyond.

 Sheena now has her own Loc & Twist hair pudding and salon operating in MI.
